John Boyer is president of BBB’s newly created TerrePower division within BBB, reporting to CEO Duncan Gillis.
As president of TerrePower, John leads all aspects of the business, which includes electric vehicle batteries, stationary energy storage and solar systems.
John is a 30+ year veteran of the automotive industry and joined BBB in 2015 as VP of product management and marketing. In 2020, he was promoted to the newly created position of president of New Ventures. This business focuses on BBB's new growth opportunities, including global expansion and new technologies. John led BBB’s expansion into Europe and development of EV battery remanufacturing which is now part of the TerrePower business unit.
Prior to joining BBB, John spent 10 years with UCI/FRAM, a $2B automotive parts supplier to both OEM and aftermarket customers in various roles, including VP of sales & marketing. John also worked 11 years for AutoZone in various roles of increasing responsibilities, most recently serving as director of category management for engine electronics and fuel systems product lines.
John graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
John resides in Spanish Fort, Alabama. He is a car enthusiast and enjoys working on cars and attending car events. He also enjoys spending time with his family, DIY home projects and playing golf.
